Position Summary:

We are in search of a meticulous and dependable Staff Accountant to enhance our finance department. The successful candidate will undertake a range of accounting responsibilities, encompassing ledger oversight, reconciliation, financial reporting, and compliance assessments. Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting: Aid in the preparation of precise monthly financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Account Reconciliation: Oversee the reconciliation of bank statements, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded in the general ledger.
  • Budgeting: Support the budget preparation and financial forecasting processes.
  • Tax Compliance: Assist in the external preparation of tax returns and adherence to federal, state, and local tax regulations.
  • Audit Assistance: Collaborate in internal and external audits to guarantee compliance with financial laws and regulations.
  • Accounts Management: Help manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections as required.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct regular ledger maintenance and financial analysis to facilitate strategic financial decisions.
  • Process Enhancement: Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvements to boost efficiency and accuracy within the accounting department.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years in a staff accounting role.
  • Industry Experience: Previous accounting experience in the construction or industrial sector is advantageous.

Skills:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and databases (e.g., QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
