Position Summary:
We are in search of a meticulous and dependable Staff Accountant to enhance our finance department. The successful candidate will undertake a range of accounting responsibilities, encompassing ledger oversight, reconciliation, financial reporting, and compliance assessments. A solid grasp of accounting principles, exceptional numerical skills, and the capacity to manage sensitive financial data with confidentiality are essential for this role. Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Aid in the preparation of precise monthly financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Account Reconciliation: Oversee the reconciliation of bank statements, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded in the general ledger.
- Budgeting: Support the budget preparation and financial forecasting processes.
- Tax Compliance: Assist in the external preparation of tax returns and adherence to federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Audit Assistance: Collaborate in internal and external audits to guarantee compliance with financial laws and regulations.
- Accounts Management: Help manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections as required.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct regular ledger maintenance and financial analysis to facilitate strategic financial decisions.
- Process Enhancement: Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvements to boost efficiency and accuracy within the accounting department.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Experience: A minimum of 2 years in a staff accounting role.
- Industry Experience: Previous accounting experience in the construction or industrial sector is advantageous.
