About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Assistant Engineering Manager to join our team in the Power Business Unit's Civil and Environmental Engineering Business Sector.

As an Assistant Engineering Manager at GAI Consultants, you will have the opportunity to manage civil engineering and permitting tasks, delegate and provide direction to engineering/drafting staff, and lead and review the development of calculations, drawings, and associated project deliverables.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage civil engineering and permitting tasks, including site grading and drainage design, access road design, erosion and sediment pollution control design, stormwater management design, and report preparation.
  • Delegate and provide direction to engineering/drafting staff, including task management, budget/schedule management, scope change management, quality assurance/peer reviews, and report writing.
  • Lead and review the development of calculations, drawings, and associated project deliverables, including proposal preparation, written communication, and collaboration with other engineering leads.
  • Conduct field condition assessments, perform bid and construction phase services, and verify change order documentation.
  • Supervise a staff of engineers and technicians, provide continued mentored experience, and integrate professional attitudes relevant to the practice of engineering.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's of Civil Engineering (required)
  • 10 years of experience with GIS, AutoCAD Civil 3D, HY-8, Pondpack, Hydraflow, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and other related engineering software (required)
  • 10 years of proficiency in Civil Site Design, NPDES Permitting requirements, and construction practices (required)
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) License (required)
  • Driver's License (required)
