Position Summary:

The Quality Assurance Engineer plays a crucial role in maintaining the quality of components, products, and manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with established internal standards, customer expectations, and relevant industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, report, and monitor manufacturing quality metrics (Quality Assurance Reports).
  • Oversee and communicate designated quality initiatives and performance indicators.
  • Conduct troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem-solving for quality-related issues on the manufacturing floor.
  • Manage daily quality operations, including inspections of incoming materials, in-process checks, sub-assembly, and final product evaluations.
  • Ensure the resolution of corrective actions and verify their effectiveness.
  • Assist the Quality Manager/Supervisor in the establishment and maintenance of the Quality Management System.
  • Facilitate the introduction and validation of new products in manufacturing, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including Engineering, Supply Chain, and Production.
  • Provide training and support to Quality Inspectors to ensure adherence to quality management system requirements.
  • Support the Compliance and Regulatory department by conducting audits, addressing audit findings, and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
  • Analyze defective products and customer returns, providing solutions to address complaints.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to enhance productivity and reduce costs and waste.
  • Ensure compliance with all ethical and legal standards.
  • Possess working knowledge of ISO/9001/14000/13485 and AS9100 processes.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Associate's degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Familiarity with Design and Process FMEA.
  • Proficient in Quality Core Tools: APQP, PPAP, Control Plans, and Process Flow.
  • Experience in problem-solving methodologies such as Ishikawa, 5W 1H, and Failure Tree Analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing Corrective and Preventive Actions.
  • Knowledge of First Time Quality, Production Efficiency, and Schedule Attainment.
  • Experience in production and material control in complex, high-mix, low-volume environments.
  • Proficient in Statistical Process Control and Process Validation/Verification.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
  • Experience in customer and supplier interactions, as well as engagement with senior management.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline.
  • Experience in Project/Program Management.
  • Familiarity with design software such as SolidWorks, ProEngineer (ProE), or AutoCAD.
  • Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher).
  • CQE/ASQ Certification.
  • Background in industries such as Wire and Cable, Connectors, Aerospace, or Technical Medical products.
