Job Title: Automation Coordinator

We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Coordinator to join our team at the County of Chesterfield. As an Automation Coordinator, you will be responsible for leading Utilities automation staff, directing work, and assigning projects. You will also maintain the Local Area Network (LAN), server maintenance and backups, application development, and PC applications. Additionally, you will purchase and deploy hardware and software, provide oversight and management of the department's systems and technology projects, and perform related work as required.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Five years of experience in the implementation and support of business information systems, including two years of supervisory experience
  • Considerable knowledge of concepts of microcomputer technology and related software
  • Ability to analyze complex business problems for potential automation solutions
  • Ability to manage complex automation projects
  • Ability to document processes and procedures and develop user documentation
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Ability to operate a personal computer and related software and other standard office equipment
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers
  • Ability to supervise technical and non-technical staff

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current valid driver's license and good driving record
  • Based on the Virginia DMV point system, record must not reflect a total of six or more demerit points within the twenty-four months preceding the anticipated hire date, or one major violation of six demerit points within the preceding thirty-six months
