The Security Specialist plays a crucial role in the administration and execution of the AOC Security Program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a point of contact and collaborate with various Legislative Branch Organizations on security-related issues.
  • Assist program managers in formulating written protocols that align with established guidelines.
  • Draft, evaluate, and update overarching security policies and procedures.
  • Support the development, implementation, and enforcement of SCIF security protocols.
  • Oversee the management of a SCIF and classified information security program.
  • Conduct security briefings and training sessions for personnel with access to classified information, including OPSEC and general security awareness.
  • Engage in security audits and inspections, identifying weaknesses and proposing corrective measures.
  • Assist in incident response and reporting, including the investigation of security breaches.
  • Provide support and direction to security personnel and other staff on security-related issues.
  • Stay informed on updates in security regulations and best practices, advising the organization as necessary.
  • Perform additional security-related tasks as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities, demands, and timelines.

Experience Requirements:

  • Must possess a current Top Secret personnel security clearance and maintain it throughout the contract duration.
  • A minimum of four (4) years, preferably six (6) years, of relevant multi-disciplinary security experience, including physical security, SCIF management, information security, and policy formulation.
  • Capable of discussing technical matters with non-technical, executive-level government officials.

Educational Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma
