We are seeking a highly skilled Geotechnical Engineer to join our team at American Engineering Testing Inc. in the region of the Midwest.
About the RoleThis is a challenging opportunity for an experienced professional to utilize their expertise in geotechnical engineering, project management, and leadership to deliver high-quality services to our clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing projects from initial authorization to completion, including client interaction, work scheduling, budgeting, invoicing, and quality control.
Key Responsibilities- Project Management: Manage simple to complex projects, direct project teams, and ensure timely delivery while meeting client expectations.
- Engineering Expertise: Perform engineering observations, judgments, and recommendations on geostructural activities, prepare formal geotechnical reports, and coordinate staff assignments for field testing.
- Leadership and Team Development: Provide guidance, training, and performance evaluations to junior staff members, promote a positive working environment, and foster strong teamwork.
- Communication and Representation: Develop and present proposals, engage with clients, peer groups, public audiences, and regulatory agencies, and represent AET by showcasing innovative solutions.
To be successful in this role, you will require a Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geological Engineering, with 10+ years of experience in geotechnical engineering, project management, and leadership. Alternatively, an Advanced degree with 8+ years of experience is preferred. You must also hold Professional Engineering registration in Minnesota and be able to obtain registration in other states as required.

- Client Relationships: Cultivate and manage external relationships to generate business development opportunities.
- Physical Demands: Be physically capable of performing the physical labor required, with personal protective equipment, and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds.
This position primarily operates in a professional office environment, with occasional field work in outdoor conditions on construction sites. We offer a competitive salary range of $90,000 - $140,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits such as health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
