Water Safety Instructor - YMCA

We are seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Water Safety Instructor to join our team at the YMCA of Greater Springfield Inc. As a Water Safety Instructor, you will play a vital role in teaching individuals and groups essential water safety skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective water safety instruction to program participants, members, and the community.
  • Grow the water safety skills of participants through personalized and group instruction.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Develop and maintain instructor lesson plans, lifeguard checklists, and administrative paperwork.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent required; additional years of experience may be substituted where permitted.
  • CPR, First Aid, AED, and O2 certifications must be earned, held, and maintained within 60 days of start date.
  • At least 1 year of customer-facing experience is preferred.
  • Ability to satisfactorily complete a pre-work swim test is a condition of employment.

Salary Estimate: $32,000 - $42,000 per annum based on location and experience. The YMCA of Greater Springfield Inc. offers a competitive compensation package, including comprehensive benefits and opportunities for growth and development.
