Key Responsibilities:

  • Transportation Coordination: Coordinate all aspects of transporting residents, including scheduling, routing, and ensuring timely arrivals and departures.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Ensure proper maintenance of all facility vehicles, including routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
  • Customer Service: Represent the facility in a professional manner when dealing with medical providers, patients, and their families.
  • Scheduling and Calendar Management: Make appointments for patients and maintain a calendar of appointments to ensure efficient transportation services.
  • Logistics and Record-Keeping: Maintain required logs of each transport and for each vehicle, ensuring accurate records and compliance with regulations.
  • Relationship Building: Establish and maintain good working relationships with community, hospital, and other healthcare facilities and agencies to ensure coordination of services for our patients.
  • Specimen and Item Transport: Transport specimens and other items to the hospital or medical clinic as requested.
  • Purchasing and Supplies: Make purchases from local suppliers as requested by facility staff.

Requirements:

  • Valid Driver's License: Possess a valid NC driver's license to operate a motor vehicle with an appropriate driving record.
  • Age and Moral Character: Be 21 years of age or older, of good moral character, and have a genuine concern for the elderly and disabled.
  • Certifications and Registration: Currently be registered with DFS as a Nursing Assistant or as an Emergency Medical Technician in North Carolina, and maintain a current CPR certification via the American Heart Association.
  • Communication and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to plan, organize, and follow-up on work assignments, make independent decisions, and work well under pressure.
  • Flexibility and Adaptability: Ability to be flexible in performing different tasks and adapt to changing situations.
  • Transportation Experience: Preferably have transportation experience.
