Job Description

Hunton Trane, a division of The Hunton Group, is seeking an experienced Building Automation Systems Specialist to join our organization. As a key member of our sales team, you will work closely with engineers, architects, contractors, and owners/developers to design, apply, and sell building automation solutions for commercial, industrial, and institutional buildings.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and sell integrated building automation systems.
  • Gather, organize, and assemble data for reports, presentations, and special projects.
  • Respond to customer needs by identifying systems, products, generating quotes, and closing orders.
  • Communicate order changes to customers.
  • Develop multiple relationships with key players in the customer's organization, including project managers, project engineers, construction, financial, and purchasing personnel.
  • Assist customers in answering technical questions on HVAC systems, Trane products, and system application alternatives, installation, operation, maintenance, and problem resolution.
  • Conduct price estimates and quotations for projects.
  • Visit customers and conduct events to build relationships with key accounts.
  • Monitor and track quoted projects and current orders.
  • Manage plan and specification takeoffs, selection, pricing, and bidding.
  • Present formal presentations and training sessions with customer groups.
  • Adhere to The Trane Company's conditions and business conduct policies when securing business in the marketplace.
  • Flexibility to work overtime/weekends, as required.
  • Frequent travel requirements with some overnight travel.

Our ideal candidate has excellent written and oral communication skills, strong presentation skills, and the ability to read, analyze, and interpret construction plans, specifications, and contract documents. A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering Technology, or other IT-related degrees from a 4-year college or university, along with 3+ years of experience in sales, preferably in the HVAC industry, estimating, engineering, construction management, or contracting environment, is required.

Estimated Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per year
