Schedule: Every other weekend 12:30 pm - 7:00 pm

The primary responsibilities of the Cafeteria Cashier include delivering exceptional customer service and managing transactions. The cashier processes customer purchases and ensures the cafeteria and dining areas are kept clean and organized. Additionally, the cashier is responsible for restocking supplies as needed.

Important Note: Public transportation does not operate on Sundays, so alternative transportation is necessary for any Sunday shifts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Proactively addresses and fulfills customer needs; takes appropriate actions to resolve any issues.
  • Stocks and replenishes cafeteria items (such as coffee, paper goods, cooler items, salad bar, and snack racks) according to departmental standards.
  • Ensures cleanliness and sanitation of cafeteria equipment, dining areas, serving stations, and tray return zones.
  • Exhibits a positive and friendly demeanor at all times.
  • Prepares catering orders and manages the breakdown of used catering carts.
  • Processes customer transactions using the cash register and completes all payment transactions.
  • Balances the cash register at the end of shifts.
  • Informs supervisors of any concerns, discrepancies, or product shortages.
  • Actively contributes to departmental goals aimed at enhancing retail satisfaction.
Working Conditions:
  • Fast-paced environment requiring quick transitions between tasks.
  • Extended periods of standing or sitting on a cashier stool.
  • Physical tasks include pushing catering carts, lifting/moving items up to 20 lbs, bending, and reaching.
  • Cashiering necessitates the ability to read standard font sizes on the POS screen.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to read English for understanding recipes and menus is required.
  • Ability to communicate in English with customers is essential.
  • Excellent customer service skills are necessary.
  • Prior experience in cashiering and customer service is preferred.
  • Basic arithmetic skills are required for handling cash transactions.
  • All staff members adhere to C.A.R.E. Standards.
