Position Summary

The Avionics Specialty Mechanic plays a crucial role in ensuring the functionality and reliability of avionics systems across various aircraft during field operations and within a Part 145 repair station. This is a field-based role reporting directly to the Helicopter Program Manager, with travel requirements based on operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate within a team environment, upholding the highest standards of ethics, integrity, safety, and transparency.
  • Communicate effectively with team members regarding technical data, quality assurance, and time management.
  • Exhibit proficiency in interpreting wiring diagrams, aircraft blueprints, and schematics.
  • Install, test, and validate the operation of avionics equipment and accessories; troubleshoot and rectify electronic failures using hand tools, testing devices, and technical documentation.
  • Modify existing wire harnesses and fabricate new ones as required.
  • Ensure that all installations comply with FAA regulations and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Utilize sound judgment and technical expertise to make informed decisions regarding job sequencing, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
  • Demonstrate physical capability to climb ladders, use hand tools dexterously, and navigate the shop/hangar area and aircraft throughout the workday.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience as an avionics technician with mechanical skills or as a mechanic with advanced avionics knowledge.
  • Ability to work autonomously and make economically sound decisions aligned with the company's vision.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • A&P License is preferred.
