Current Opportunity: We are seeking a skilled senior systems engineer to contribute to our initiatives focused on advanced missile warning software solutions.

This role presents a unique chance to be part of a small business that plays a vital role in national defense.

You will engage with a dynamic team to deliver comprehensive software processing of Overhead Persistent InfraRed (OPIR) sensor data for applications including Missile Warning, Missile Defense, Battlespace Awareness, and Technical Intelligence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement systems engineering methodologies in accordance with IEEE 15288.
  • Guide and mentor fellow SciTec personnel in systems engineering practices and principles.
  • Facilitate communication among customer representatives, program managers, software developers, and other systems engineering team members. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for this position.
  • Design and model system architectures for remote sensor data processing systems, creating design artifacts utilizing Model-Based Systems Engineering.
  • Oversee systems engineering personnel and contractors in collaboration with the SciTec program management team.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in physical sciences, mathematics, engineering, or computer science.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of professional experience in engineering, computer science, or remote sensing.
  • At least five (5) years of experience specifically in systems engineering.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
  • Detail-oriented with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Preferred qualifications include:
    • Experience with remote sensor systems or software architecture, particularly in OPIR sensor processing.
    • Background in supporting systems engineering initiatives within the defense and aerospace sectors.
    • Additional professional experience in systems engineering beyond five years.
    • Familiarity with the Cameo/MagicDraw suite of tools.
    • Experience with Agile software development methodologies.
    • Demonstrated program management and project leadership experience, with familiarity in Earned Value Management Systems being a plus.
    • Graduate degrees or coursework in Systems Engineering or related fields.
    • An active SECRET DoD security clearance or higher.
