Job Summary:

As a Medical Assistant at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a vital role in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a Physician and/or Designee. Your responsibilities will include interviewing patients, measuring vital signs, and recording information in patient medical records. You will also prepare treatment rooms and patients for examination, assist clinicians with patient care, and perform routine laboratory tests as required by the department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Interview patients and measure vital signs and other pertinent information as required by the department.
  • Record information in patients medical record.
  • Prepare treatment rooms and patients for examination.
  • Assist clinician with care of the patient.
  • Inventory, order and replenish medical supplies and materials.
  • Give treatments and perform routine laboratory tests as required by the department.
  • Schedule appointments, perform clinical tasks and complete appropriate forms as required by the department.
  • May be responsible for administering medications, including injections.
  • May be responsible for cleaning, processing, sterilizing and checking instruments.
  • Perform computer data entry functions.
  • Perform clinical/technical skills specific to the department.
Customer Service:

You will practice customer service standards as defined by the Medical Center and specified department. This includes anticipating the customer's needs, taking proactive steps to meet those needs, and promptly responding to alarms and patient requests.

Team Commitment:

You will be an effective team member who is flexible, cooperative, and willing to assist others. You will manage difficult or conflict situations constructively and seek appropriate assistance.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
