Talent and Culture Coordinator Job Description

Job Summary:

The Talent and Culture Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the employment, training, and communication functions within the hotel. This position is responsible for managing daily recruitment and selection activities, planning and participating in recruitment initiatives, and facilitating onboarding processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment and Selection:
    • Manage daily recruitment and selection activities to ensure compliance with established standards.
    • Plan and participate in recruitment initiatives, including career fairs, campus recruitment, and social media outreach.
    • Handle the job posting process, conduct screening interviews, and coordinate interview schedules with hiring managers.
    • Ensure thorough employment verifications and background checks are completed.
  • Onboarding and Training:
    • Facilitate onboarding processes, including new hire paperwork and orientation sessions.
    • Lead and conduct training sessions, both in-person and virtual.
  • Administrative and Communication Support:
    • Ensure the prompt and accurate completion of administrative and clerical tasks.
    • Support communication efforts across the hotel.
  • Colleague Engagement and HR Support:
    • Organize colleague engagement events and actively participate in the hotel colleague committee.
    • Provide HR support to enhance workforce wellbeing.
    • Attend departmental stand-ups and meetings as needed.
  • Service Excellence:
    • Deliver professional, engaging, and courteous service while maintaining a thorough understanding and adherence to departmental policies, service procedures, and standards.
  • Additional Duties:
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in Human Resources and/or the Hospitality Industry is essential and preferred.
  • Knowledge of Smartrecruiter or similar automated Talent Acquisition Systems is considered an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required.
  • A degree in Human Resources or Hospitality Management from a University or College is preferred.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills are necessary.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities and a high degree of responsibility and reliability.
  • Acute attention to detail with the ability to remain composed and focused in high-pressure situations.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team and address employee needs effectively.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is advantageous.

Physical Aspects:

  • Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods throughout the shift.
