Global Technology Associates is Hiring a Senior Test Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Test Engineer to join our team at Global Technology Associates in Oklahoma City, OK. As a key member of our Test Engineering organization, you will be responsible for developing and improving all areas of the functional end-of-line test and in-process testing systems within our manufacturing operations locations.

With a strong background in engineering mechanics, physics, hydraulics, electronics, and computer software, you will perform statistical analysis of existing test parameters to improve first-time product acceptance and product defect detection capabilities. You will also improve and repair mechanical/electrical design features, develop and specify calibration routines, and troubleshoot electrical controls and hydraulic system-related problems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops the capability, capacity, and reliability of various in-process and end-of-line test equipment.
  • Recommends and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and final product quality.
  • Recommends and implements measures for test system replacement parts, preventive maintenance measures and machine inspection frequency to support operational goals.
  • Interfaces with the customer's engineering resources to develop final test strategies.
  • Prepares and submits new product test validation data to the customer for final test parameter approval.
  • Interfaces with production operations to coordinate test development of new products, based on new product launch and implementation timing goals.
  • Troubleshoots operational capability, quality, capacity, and test machine reliability problems and facilitates problem solving efforts to determine root cause and corrective actions.
  • Provides regular status reports and updates to the Engineering Test Systems Manager.
  • Responsible for adherence to the policies, procedures and instructions of the quality management system as related to end of line testing.

Requirements:

  • At least one year of experience with automatic transmission processes.
  • General knowledge of engineering mechanics, physics, hydraulics, electronics, and computer software.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical engineering is strongly preferred.
  • A basic understanding of the operational theory and principles of operation of automatic trans-axle/transmissions is required.
  • Familiarity with common instrumentation testing equipment and data acquisition and control systems is required.
  • Experience programming real-time applications such as PLC and LabVIEW.
  • Experience with electronics and automation.
  • Working knowledge of transmissions, drivelines, or engines (a plus)
  • Have worked with equipment supported by VMC or WMA (a plus)
  • Knowledge of National Instruments software LabView and Test stand
  • The ability to read and interpret manufacturing documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, machine drawings, wiring/electrical schematics, and repair manuals is required. The Test Engineer must have the ability to write detailed reports with supporting documentation and data.
  • Must be proficient in the operation of computers, word processing, spreadsheet, and database software applications.
  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to develop written communication, spreadsheets, charts, and graphs.
  • Ability to interpret multiple test stand programming languages including PLC, LabVIEW, etc.
