Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities:
As a Medical Assistant, your duties will include:

  • Preparing patients for examinations and treatments
  • Conducting triage and recording vital signs
  • Accurately documenting patient histories in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
  • Collecting and managing patient and business documents while upholding confidentiality
  • Performing routine laboratory specimen collections, including blood draws
  • Administering medications and injections as required
  • Assisting with various clinical procedures and maintaining aseptic techniques
  • Documenting all medical interventions promptly within the EMR
  • Training and supporting the Occupational Medicine service line
  • Ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and standards
  • Participating in quality assurance programs for laboratory compliance
  • Maintaining HIPAA and OSHA compliance at all times
  • Carrying out general administrative tasks and operating medical office equipment
  • Traveling to different locations as needed based on staffing requirements

Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:

  • A completed Medical Assistant program from an accredited institution
  • A minimum of one year of relevant healthcare experience, preferably in urgent care or emergency settings
  • Proficiency in venipuncture and administering injections
  • Knowledge of clinical procedures, medical anatomy, and physiology

Physical Requirements:
Candidates should be prepared to:

  • Work 12-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Engage in physical activities such as sitting, walking, and reaching throughout the workday
  • Exhibit finger dexterity and hand coordination
  • Occasionally lift moderate weights
  • Meet specific vision requirements, including close and distance vision
