We are seeking an experienced Structural Design Lead to join our team at Brasfield & Gorrie. In this role, you will be responsible for directing the engineering efforts on projects of varying complexity and overseeing the work of other engineers.
Key Responsibilities- Lead structural engineering efforts on design-build projects from client contact through project completion.
- Coordinate with architectural, mechanical, electrical, civil, and other design disciplines to ensure successful project delivery.
- Prepare and review Structural Narratives, Schematic Designs, and Construction Documents.
- Develop and maintain 2D and 3D structural analysis models.
- Collaborate with internal operations, scheduling, and procurement teams to drive project progress.
- Evaluate and resolve technical issues, including out-of-specification work and remediation plans.
- Conduct design assist and value engineering reviews to optimize structural systems.
- Analyze temporary loads and conditions on existing and proposed permanent structures.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
- 6-12 years of experience in engineering and design.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Professional Engineering Licensure within 6 months of hire.
- Expertise in designing to industry specifications, including IBC, ASCE, AISC, and ACI.
- Experience in analyzing and designing multi-story reinforced concrete and/or structural steel frames.
- Solid engineering judgment and reasoning skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multiple project teams.
