Job Responsibilities:

The associate will be responsible for the following essential duties, in addition to other tasks as assigned:

  1. Ensure the precision and suitability of all prescriptions by conducting Drug Utilization Reviews and Final Quality Assurance, adhering to state and federal Board of Pharmacy regulations.
  2. Drive business profitability and prescription growth through recommended clinical initiatives, including appropriate immunization services and Medication Therapy Management (MTM) programs.
  3. Align performance objectives with key department metrics that are measurable for effectiveness and efficiency within your control.
  4. Collaborate with the pharmacy manager to manage inventory by tracking weekly sales and ordering pharmaceutical stock to meet customer demand and maximize profits.
  5. Deliver exceptional customer service by assisting clients with medical inquiries and providing healthcare counseling.
  6. Supervise the work of Pharmacy Technicians and support staff during your shift, assisting the Pharmacy Manager in training, coaching, and managing pharmacy associates.
  7. Assume management responsibilities for the pharmacy in the absence of the Pharmacy Manager.
  8. Maintain open communication with operations and pharmacy management to ensure the pharmacy's success.
  9. Ensure the security of the Pharmacy department is upheld.
  10. Comply with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations.
  11. Address and resolve customer concerns, complaints, and inquiries to foster trust and loyalty.
  12. Engage with physicians and utilize reference materials to gather information on customers and prescriptions, resolving any issues that may arise.
  13. Assist in maintaining the Pharmacy department by ensuring cleanliness and organization.
  14. Support the manager in the ongoing training and development of department personnel to enhance performance, ensure continuous improvement, reduce turnover, and manage labor costs.
  15. Prioritize Pharmacy Department tasks and ensure timely completion of all responsibilities, including cycle counts, inventory management, and customer will-calls.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position includes supervising pharmacy technicians and executing supervisory duties in accordance with WEIS LLC policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities encompass interviewing, hiring, training, directing, rewarding, and disciplining associates; evaluating associate performance; and resolving complaints.

Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, the associate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The following qualifications are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required:

  • Bachelor's degree (BS), Doctoral degree (PHARM.D.), or equivalent in Pharmacy.
  • Immunization Certification through an accredited organization (e.g., APhA).
