**Job Summary**

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a highly qualified Adjunct English Instructor to join our team. As an Adjunct English Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) courses to international students.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Teach ESL courses to international students, including intensive English for academic purposes (EAP) courses.
  • Develop and implement curriculum for ESL courses, including course materials and assessments.
  • Provide academic support to international students, including advising and mentoring.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement program policies and procedures.
  • Participate in professional development activities, including training and workshops.

**Requirements**

  • Master's degree in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, Linguistics, or a closely related field with a TESOL certificate.
  • Considerable experience teaching ESL courses, including EAP courses.
  • Demonstrated ability to use technology in the classroom, including learning management systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

**Preferred Qualifications**

  • Experience with curriculum design and evaluation.
  • Knowledge of the US university system and environment.
  • International work experience.
  • Proficiency in a foreign language.

**Working Conditions**

This is a part-time, adjunct position. The successful candidate will be required to work on a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
