Job Title: Principal Mission Management Equipment Responsible Engineer

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal Mission Management Equipment Responsible Engineer to join our team in Melbourne, FL. This role will be responsible for designing, developing, and integrating mission management equipment for our aerospace systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop computer and network architectures for mission management equipment
  • Perform hardware integration and testing, and requirements analysis
  • Trade studies, documenting subsystem architectures, analyzing performance, and evaluating Technology Readiness Level (TRL)
  • Collaborate with engineers and program stakeholders to integrate mission management subsystems to meet platform mission objectives
  • Technical management of program strategic partners and suppliers, including development, acquisition, acceptance, qualification, system integration and test support
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 5 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; OR a Master's degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university AND 3 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; or a Ph.D. AND 0 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering
  • Active DoD Secret clearance that is in-scope (granted or renewed within the last 6 years)
  • Ability to obtain Top Secret clearance
  • Demonstrated experience in Ethernet-based networking design, to include IP address planning, switching, and routing
  • Working knowledge of cyber security and Risk Managed Framework (RMF), STIGs and associated elements
  • Experience with integration of COTS electronics into military systems
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD Degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering
  • Posess a DODD 8570 certifications, such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or similar network/security certifications
  • Demonstrated knowledge in the areas of Ethernet based avionics bus interfaces, integrated avionics systems, and operational ground systems
  • Demonstrated understanding of IP address planning, VLANs, ACLs, encapsulation, switching, routing, QoS, service and/or application protocols
  • Experience with authentication and data encryption methods, to include securing communications at either the data-link or network layer
  • Experience with embedded systems, Unix and Linux operating systems, non-Cisco routing environments, single board computers, servers and Network Attached Storage (NAS) solutions
