Aurora, Colorado, United States Booz Allen Hamilton Full time
Job Opportunity

Booz Allen Hamilton is seeking an experienced senior lead systems engineer to help our clients transform their mission processing systems to meet the next generation space and ground architecture requirements.

The Challenge

Mission processing is evolving as space architectures transform from small numbers of highly complex satellites to large, integrated, and proliferated architectures.

These architectures require new ways of transforming customer needs into mission value through compact on-orbit satellite processors and highly flexible ground processing systems.

Automation, artificial intelligence, and machine learning, hybrid cloud, and edge computing approaches will all play a role in meeting the future mission processing challenge.

Your Role

As a Senior Lead Systems Engineer of Mission Processing Systems, you will help drive the definition of end-to-end solutions to successfully manage emerging satellite and ground architectures for national security space programs.

You will leverage your knowledge of the industry and existing mission processing systems and approaches in collaboration with other systems engineers, software developers, and subject matter experts to define and model candidate system architectures, conduct trade studies, and identify gaps and risks that must be addressed to successfully develop future mission processing systems.

You will engage with clients and industry partners to keep the team informed about the development of future space architectures and signal processing systems, and take a key role in developing white papers, demonstrations, and proposals for next-generation mission processing systems to continue expanding our business and mission impact.

As our business grows, you will take on systems engineering team leadership roles on one or more contracts to ensure successful delivery of new mission processing systems to our clients.

Requirements
  • 6+ years of experience with systems engineering development and test on government ground systems processing satellite collected signal data
  • 4+ years of experience with developing DSP algorithms and modeling and simulating algorithm functional and throughput performance in target processing hardware
  • 2+ years of experience with leading teams developing mission processing systems
  • 1+ years of experience with developing system architectures
  • Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam
  • Bachelor's degree
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1+ years of experience with developing on-orbit processors, for either commercial or government space systems
  • 3+ years of experience with national security satellite systems for SIGINT applications
  • Experience with developing solutions in classified cloud environments in the Intelligence Community or Department of Defense
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
  • Knowledge of Agile and DevSecOps development
  • Knowledge of automation techniques or artificial intelligence and machine learning
  • Master's degree in a technical field
Clearance

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.
