Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Systems Engineer to join our team at Raytheon Technologies. As a key member of our Satellite Ground Systems team, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership and expertise in the development and implementation of complex systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical analysis and definition of system requirements, interfaces, and validation and verification processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement system engineering analyses, algorithm development, and requirements definition and derivation.
  • Lead the development of system interfaces and provide technical direction for the execution of test processes and baseline definition.
  • Support regression testing across deliverable releases to the program baseline.
  • Participate in technical reviews and interchanges to ensure the successful implementation of the system.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8+ years of prior relevant experience.
  • Active Top Secret / SCI Security Clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Experience with Systems Engineering lifecycle, roles and functions, with specific experience in one or more of the following areas: operations concept development, requirements management, functional analysis/synthesis, interface definition and control, and/or verification and validation.
  • Development experience on a government program.
  • Experience with Agile and DevSecOps development methods.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite of tools (e.g. Word, Excel, and/or PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in Satellite Command/Control, Mission Management or Planning.
  • Good oral and written communication skills as well as good collaboration skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Experience with Agile tool sets (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket, etc.).
  • Experience working with requirements in DOORS or other requirements databases.
  • Experience working in DevOps and/or DevSecOps in an Agile development environment.
  • Scripting knowledge (e.g. Python).
