Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate programs and services for library users and staff.
  • Provide front-line assistance to the public utilizing library resources.
  • Support research efforts and public programming initiatives.
  • Engage with diverse community groups to deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Assist patrons in navigating emerging technologies and accessing library materials.
  • Work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, on a rotating schedule.

Professional Development:

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in library science, history, computer science, education, or a related field.
  • Master's degree in library science from an ALA accredited institution is preferred.
  • Two years of experience in a public library setting.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Skills and Abilities:
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of library standards and digital collections, possess excellent customer service skills, and be capable of planning and facilitating special events and programs.

Work Environment:
Working conditions may involve travel within the city and exposure to various environmental factors. Candidates must be able to perform detailed work on multiple tasks with frequent interruptions.
