Job Summary

Norton Healthcare is seeking a skilled Child Life Therapist to join our team. As a Child Life Therapist, you will play a critical role in assessing, planning, and implementing psychosocial interventions to support the needs of patients and families in our pediatric setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and identify the psychosocial needs of patients and families, and develop individualized plans to address these needs.
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to patients and families, and facilitate coping and adaptation to hospitalization and treatment.
  • Develop and implement activities and interventions to promote social, emotional, intellectual, and physical growth and development in children.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive care and support for patients and families.
  • Act as an advocate for patients and families, and provide education and support to help them navigate the healthcare system.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Child Life, Child Development, Psychology, Education, or a related field.
  • Completion of a 600-hour Child Life internship.
  • Child Life Certification or eligibility to sit for the exam.
  • Ability to obtain Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) credential within 12 months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

  • One year of experience in a healthcare setting.
