Job Summary

This position is responsible for developing tools and systems to provide critical financial and operational information to the CEO and make actionable recommendations on both strategy and operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee revenue recognition, compliance, reporting, and financial monitoring for complex contracts tied to allocations and reimbursable expenses.
  • Collaborate with the CEO to engage the board, finance, audit, and investment committees around issues, trends, and changes in the financial model(s) and operational delivery.
  • Assess organizational performance monthly, quarterly, and annually against both the annual budget and company's long-term strategy.
  • Oversee short, medium, and long-term budgetary planning and costs management in alignment with company strategic plan.
  • Partner with the CEO to set the financial goals and strategy of the organization.
  • Use extensive knowledge of QuickBooks to make recommendations to staff and support the Controller in management of the day-to-day operations.
  • Manage all financing and banking relationships.
  • Represent the Organization to financial partners, including financial institutions, investors, foundation executives, auditors, public officials, etc.
  • Prepare and maintain regular financial reports, dashboards and KPIs for the CEO, Finance Committee and Board of Directors.
  • Complete analysis of financial results and develop recommendations both strategic and tactical.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) or equivalent, CPA and/or MBA, required.
  • Ten or more years' experience as a CFO or equivalent, preferably in a non-profit organization with a budget of at least $10M.
  • Experience working with information technology staff to manage finance and accounting software packages.
  • Experience in a senior financial-management role, partnering with executive staff, resulting in the development and implementation of creative financial management strategies.
  • Significant experience in or knowledge of non-profit accounting, including sophisticated fund and grant accounting, compliance, and reporting.
