We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team at Houston Methodist. As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of laboratory test results.
Key Responsibilities- Perform qualitative and quantitative tests and examinations using various analyzers and/or manual methods.
- Organize workload and set priorities, utilizing all available work time to assist others and perform additional tasks.
- Meet turnaround time expectations as defined by management.
- Demonstrate the six elements of competency for test systems used to generate patient test results in all areas assigned to work.
- Recognize, investigate, and help resolve test discrepancies.
- Graduate of an education program approved by the credentialing body for the required credential(s) indicated below in the Certifications, Licenses and Registrations section.
- One year of work or training experience in a hospital laboratory preferred.
- Certified Laboratory Assistant (ASCP) within 1 year, or Medical Laboratory Technician (ASCP) within 1 year, or Medical Laboratory Technician (AMT) within 1 year.
