Position Summary

The successful candidate will independently oversee cross-functional project teams throughout all stages of Infrastructure-Utility, Laboratory-Office, and GMP Manufacturing projects. This role is crucial in delivering projects that align with stakeholder expectations and are fully operational upon completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize project management tools and methodologies to initiate, design, and evaluate project plans, ensuring adherence to budget and timelines.
  • Lead project execution teams, including internal staff and external contractors, managing projects within the $500K to $10M range.
  • Facilitate clear communication regarding project scope and status to stakeholders, ensuring transparency in both technical and non-technical discussions.
  • Collaborate with procurement to prepare and manage bid packages for design and construction contracts, overseeing negotiations and contract management.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules using MS Project, tracking critical milestones and resource allocations.
  • Monitor project expenditures and prepare monthly financial reports to keep management informed of progress.
  • Oversee external design partners and construction firms, ensuring timely delivery of project scopes and compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct inspections to ensure work meets design specifications and safety regulations, facilitating contractor training and site orientation.
  • Establish performance criteria and execute commissioning plans to ensure projects meet rigorous testing standards.
  • Manage project scope and risk, ensuring effective financial control and value for money through negotiations with contractors.
  • Provide regular project management updates and reports, monitoring overall project execution.
  • Incorporate safety protocols into all project aspects, including construction safety management and environmental controls.
  • Lead effective project meetings, ensuring clear agendas and follow-up on action items.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering is required; an advanced degree or MBA is preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in Project Engineering and Management, with a proven track record in pharmaceutical manufacturing projects.
  • Strong technical knowledge of pharmaceutical systems and facilities engineering is preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and MS Project is essential.
  • In-depth understanding of engineering standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills are crucial.
  • Ability to adapt to flexible work schedules, including off-hours as needed.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
