Mental Health Support Specialist - Overnight Shift

Join our team at Discovery Behavioral Health as a Mental Health Support Specialist, working an overnight shift. Your role will be to assist patients through the treatment experience from admission through discharge.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Orient new patients to the treatment program, completing needed assessments within 24 hours of admission.
  • Monitor patients through the treatment experience, keeping them in line of sight in the milieu and checking on them in bedrooms or other areas on a regular basis.
  • Facilitate treatment plans set forth by therapists, providing day-to-day support to patients and helping them engage in positive coping skills.
  • Run and engage patients in therapeutic groups, such as coping skills, relapse prevention, and psychoeducation.
  • Document behaviors that occur in the milieu in a thorough and appropriate manner, maintaining the confidential nature of patient and program-related activities.
  • Answer telephones promptly and politely, transferring inquiries to the therapist, milieu manager, or program director as needed.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma
  • Bachelor's degree or one year of experience in a mental health setting or working with adolescents
  • CPI and CPR/First Aid certification within 90 days of employment
