Job Summary

Marathon Petroleum is seeking a highly skilled River Engineer to join our team. As a River Engineer, you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance and major maintenance procedures on various equipment, including diesel engines, governors, air and electronic control systems, reduction gears, AC generators, electrical switchboards, and more.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on marine equipment
  • Conduct troubleshooting and diagnostic procedures to identify and resolve equipment issues
  • Collaborate with the Marine Transportation Port Engineer and towboat master to ensure regular performance of job duties
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules to ensure optimal equipment performance
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in marine maintenance

Requirements
  • 5-10 years of experience on the river
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC)
