We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Intern to join our team at Bon Secours Mercy Health. As a Pharmacy Intern, you will assist pharmacists in safely and correctly interpreting and processing physicians' orders, ensuring the accurate and timely distribution of medications to patient care areas.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in accurate medication order interpretation, including selecting or compounding, dispensing, and ensuring delivery of medications to patient care areas.
- Operate and load automation devices for drug dispensing, ensuring accurate and efficient medication distribution.
- Assist other hospital staff with medication and pharmacy-related issues, including answering phone calls and responding to computerized medication messages.
- Participate in medication reconciliation with patients and counsel on medication and pharmacy-related issues.
- Train, educate, and precept new pharmacy technicians, students, and interns.
- Pharmacy Intern License - State Board of Pharmacy (required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - Various (preferred)
- Actively enrolled in an accredited college of pharmacy with an active board of pharmacy intern license (required)
