Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Engineer to lead our Mission System Infrastructure team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the technical direction and execution of our mission system development programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a multi-discipline design team on extensive mission system development programs, with experience in commercial and military communication systems.
  • Direct the preparation of proposals, business plans, specifications, and approve basis of estimates and rough order of magnitudes for potential pursuits.
  • Ensure all resources, including engineering, manpower, production, and facilities, are available to support the program.
  • Manage the cost, schedule, and technical performance requirements of multiple programs through all phases, from inception to completion, including Earned Value Management (EVM) and Control Account Manager experience (CAM).
  • Develop and maintain customer technical relationships with key customer representatives and major suppliers.
  • Build and maintain a high-performing team, including hiring, managing, and developing direct reports.
  • Collaborate with engineering managers and functional engineering leads to recruit, hire, train, and support the engineering team.
  • Ensure program and company processes are adhered to, ensuring consistency, quality, and safety across the technical team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's of Science degree in a related field of study and typically 12 or more years of technical experience.
  • Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education.
  • Expert knowledge of engineering principles and practice.
  • Prior experience leading a team of engineers and programs, with the ability to recruit employees, assign, direct, and evaluate their work, and oversee career development, succession planning, performance management, coaching, mentoring, and holding people accountable.
  • Extensive experience leading a multi-discipline design team on extensive mission system development programs, with experience in both commercial and military communication systems.
  • Experience directing the preparation of proposals, business plans, specifications, and approve basis of estimates and rough order of magnitudes for potential pursuits.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of managing the cost, schedule, and technical performance requirements of multiple programs through all phases, from inception to completion, including Earned Value Management (EVM) and Control Account Manager experience (CAM).
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to clearly express technical concepts in verbal and written forms, and tailor conversations to adapt to technical vs. non-technical audiences.
  • Understanding of ITAR, licensing, and compliance requirements.
  • An active Top Secret with SCI eligibility U.S. Security Clearance is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience installing mission system equipment on aircraft.
  • Experience designing complex electronic hardware for processing and dissemination of mission data.
  • Experience with NC3 mission systems.
  • Experience with technical risk identification and management approaches and processes.
  • Ability to work with team members distributed across multiple sites.
  • Ability to quickly grasp technical concepts and understand complex technical and program interdependencies.
  • Ability to establish centralized, coordinating bodies for program concerns, recommendations, and issues, and develop recommended process improvements.
  • Ability to establish new and refine existing templates, tools, and guidelines for program documentation and execution.
  • Experience with ensuring compliance with ISO 9001:2000 Policies and Processes.

Security Clearance

This position requires current/active Top Secret with SCI eligibility U.S. Security Clearance. U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment. Non-U.S. Citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance.
