Job Summary

The Recycling Yard Sorter is a critical role at MarBorg Industries, responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective sorting of materials in our recycling yard. This position requires a detail-oriented and physically capable individual who is committed to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manually sort materials from conveyor belts and into designated bins, ensuring accurate and efficient sorting.
  • Empty sorted material containers as needed, maintaining a clean and organized work area.
  • Assist coworkers as needed with heavy or bulky items, promoting a team-oriented work environment.
  • Perform duties in a safe manner, adhering to all local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area, adhering to all company standards and regulations.
  • Attend weekly safety meetings, staying informed and engaged on safety protocols and procedures.
  • Ability to adhere to work schedule, with flexibility to work early and late hours as needed.
  • Complete special projects as assigned and prioritized by the on-site manager, demonstrating adaptability and a willingness to learn.
  • Comply with OSHA regulations when using hazardous chemicals on company premises, maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, demonstrating a commitment to the success of MarBorg Industries.
Requirements:
  • Must be capable of learning specific sorting and material handling procedures, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to stand for eight plus hours per day, with physical stamina to perform duties.
  • Must be able to communicate and understand instructions, with strong verbal and written skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail.
  • Must be a dependable and self-motivated individual, with a strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.
Education and Experience:
  • Education not required, but a high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 6 months of relevant work experience, with a strong background in waste management or a related field.
