Job Title: EMT Paramedic

We are seeking a highly skilled EMT Paramedic to join our team at UMass Memorial Health. As an EMT Paramedic, you will play a critical role in providing emergency medical care to patients in our Emergency Department.

Responsibilities:
  • Work collaboratively with the care team to provide high-quality patient care.
  • Monitor patients for acute changes and communicate with primary RN or physician as needed.
  • Assist with procedures and patient care activities as requested by the ED physician and in accordance with ED policy.
  • Establish and maintain peripheral IV access.
  • Administer medications and fluids within scope of licensure and ED policy.
  • Obtain medical history, check vital signs, and advise/inform physician of diagnostic indication.
  • Transport critical patients to and from areas of the hospital while monitoring for any acute changes.
Requirements:
  • Certification as an Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.
  • Certified in CPR - Basic Rescue by either the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association.
  • Certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support by the American Heart Association.
  • Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum three years of experience in an urban EMS service integrated with a municipal first response system.
