The Mechanical Maintenance Leader is tasked with orchestrating and overseeing maintenance operations to guarantee that manufacturing machinery is operational and optimized, while minimizing production delays and related expenses. This position merges mechanical expertise with robust leadership to ensure the efficient functioning of our manufacturing processes. The Mechanical Maintenance Leader is pivotal in enhancing production workflows, implementing cost-effective strategies, and promoting asset reliability alongside continuous improvement efforts.
Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership and Team Development:
- Exhibit strong leadership to mechanical team members, nurturing a culture of continuous improvement that is collaborative, empowering, and motivating.
- Guide team members to enhance technical skills in equipment setup, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and career advancement.
- Establish clear objectives and performance benchmarks, monitor progress, and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Offer necessary guidance, technical assistance, and training to ensure that employees operate safely and adhere to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and processes.
- Provide after-hours maintenance support by engaging appropriate maintenance personnel; respond personally in critical or complex situations.
- Oversee supervisory functions including, but not limited to, onboarding and training of new hires, scheduling, performance assessments, disciplinary actions, coaching, safety training, and employee development, along with recommendations for hiring and terminations.
- Work closely with the Scheduling and Production teams to align resources with needs to minimize downtime and maximize output. Communicate changes and proposed solutions effectively.
Equipment Maintenance and Oversight:
- Assess maintenance priorities and allocate resources efficiently. Direct tasks with an understanding of the importance of enhancing accuracy and efficiency while reducing waste and operational costs. Identify bottlenecks and propose solutions, including stepping in to perform any task in support of company objectives.
- Lead initiatives in support of a comprehensive maintenance and reliability strategy ensuring minimal downtime, optimal equipment performance, timely repairs, reduced operational risk, and extended asset life of production systems and machinery.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to schedule maintenance tasks with minimal disruption to production timelines while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Ensure modifications and repairs to equipment and machinery align with engineering, maintenance, and reliability standards.
Production Process Enhancement:
- Continuously evaluate maintenance effectiveness and collaborate with the production team to identify opportunities for improvement, production optimization, and maintenance planning.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to analyze production processes, pinpoint opportunities for efficiency and productivity enhancements, and provide insights for the development of new processes.
- Work closely with production and operations teams to streamline workflows and eliminate bottlenecks.

- 2+ years of demonstrated experience in a maintenance supervisory, lead, or scheduling capacity. Experience in the personal care products manufacturing sector is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities with a capacity to motivate and manage a diverse workforce.
- Excellent organizational skills with the capability to respond swiftly and direct activities in an environment with constantly shifting priorities.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment maintenance, reliability practices, and troubleshooting techniques for machinery and systems.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and environmental compliance standards.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across departments and effectively engage with team members.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to identify trends, analyze data, and make informed decisions.
- Fluency in English; bilingual proficiency in technical Spanish is a significant advantage.
- Must be able to work on-site.
The salary range for this position is $75,000 – $95,000 annually. Compensation is commensurate with the level of knowledge, education, skills, and experience relevant to the role.
