Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician III to join our team. As a key member of our Mechanical department, you will perform tests and measurement tasks, ensuring the highest level of quality and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities- Test Setup: Read specifications from technical documents, identify and prepare test equipment
- Perform Testing: Monitor tests per specifications, interact with customers, troubleshoot, and document all pertinent data
- Data Processing: Verify, review, and document all pertinent data, finalize data, and send to the Program Manager
- Lab Maintenance / Post-Test Breakdown: Physically remove test items, maintain lab by cleaning equipment, keeping calibrated instruments current, and organizing supplies
- Limited supervision; can perform recurring work independently
- Able to complete advanced technical and mechanical procedures; able to perform assignments that are not standardized or prescribed
- Regular interaction with clients
- Able to troubleshoot and rework complex tests
- Advanced interpretation and analysis of test results; regularly called upon to provide input on test results
- Comprehensive knowledge of electrical & mechanical principles, comprehensive knowledge of all potential aspects of safety; basic understanding of AC/DC circuits
- Able to use all standard and complex Mechanical equipment; able to use standard and complex hydraulics-based systems; able to accurately capture necessary data; basic MS Office skills
- HS Diploma or GED; Technical Certification, AA or AS degree preferred
- 5+ Years of experience
Test lab with exposure to sudden, loud noises
Physical RequirementsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; climb stairs; balance; stoop; kneel; crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
