Fisher-Titus is seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist I to join our team in the laboratory department. As a Medical Technologist I, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of laboratory test results, which are essential for providing high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Test Analysis and Reporting: Perform accurate and appropriate testing of specimens received in the laboratory, according to established laboratory protocol and procedures.
- Result Reporting: Report test results in a timely manner and according to established laboratory protocol and procedures.
- Quality Control: Follow established procedures for laboratory quality control and report discrepancies to the Medical Technologist II or Director/Supervisor.
- Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Perform daily, weekly, monthly, or as needed, maintenance on instruments and equipment as appropriate, and troubleshoot instruments, equipment, reagents, and patient specimens when problems occur.
- Phlebotomy: Perform phlebotomy (venipunctures, fingersticks, heelsticks) as appropriate for the patient requiring this procedure.
- Teamwork and Communication: Work effectively as part of a department/unit team inter- and intradepartmentally to facilitate the department's/unit's ability to meet its goals and objectives.
- Work Area Maintenance: Maintain work area, including daily cleaning and ensuring that supplies are sufficient for ongoing testing.
- Education: Associates or better in Health Services Administration.
- Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors or better in Health Services Administration, Medical Laboratory Tech, or Medical Technologist certification.
