Cabinet Maker Sr Job Description

Job Summary:


This is a challenging role for a skilled Cabinet Maker Sr to join our team at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for fabricating complex cabinets and other wood-surfaced subassemblies for installation in aircraft.


Key Responsibilities:



  2. Fabrication and Assembly: Utilize a variety of woodworking tools and techniques to fabricate high-quality furniture and other wood-surfaced subassemblies.

  3. Quality Control: Interpret material specifications and design/engineering drawings to ensure finished products meet design and engineering requirements with a high level of quality and detail.

  4. Process Improvement: Work with lead and higher skilled technicians to develop and implement process improvements that increase safety, reduce cost, cycle time, and man-hours using Lean Six-Sigma and other process improvement techniques.

  5. Leadership and Training: Accept lead responsibilities when required, mentor and train lesser skilled technicians, and oversee projects and coordinate with lead to delegate tasks to assigned technicians.

  6. Safety and Compliance: Comply with and champion safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies and ensure the protection of aircraft interiors.

Requirements:



  2. Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED required, 4 years of experience in cabinetmaking, and experience in aerospace industry preferred.

  3. Skills and Abilities: Excellent communication skills, ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language, and ability to climb ladders and stairs, work in small restricted areas, lift up to 40 pounds, and work any shift.

  4. Computer Literacy: Must be computer literate and possess a working knowledge of Gulfstream inspection and process specifications preferred.
