Position Overview
Join our dedicated team at Transdev as a Transit Operations Supervisor. This role plays a crucial part in assisting the General Manager with the oversight of daily operational activities. The Transit Operations Supervisor is responsible for monitoring employee performance, identifying safety concerns, and addressing operational requirements. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide first-line supervision for location staff, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Assist the General Manager in the daily operational management, encompassing Safety, Human Resources, and Finance.
- Ensure that drivers are adequately prepared both mentally and physically for their shifts.
- Coordinate daily transit operations, including dispatching, in-service monitoring, and reporting activities.
- Participate in the hiring, development, and disciplinary processes for drivers and staff.
- Focus on safety, accident prevention, and resolution of customer complaints.
- Compile necessary daily and/or weekly reports for the company and clients.
- Track and manage employee attendance, process vacation requests, and maintain necessary uniforms for drivers and staff.
- Monitor and assess operational activities, including vehicle on-time performance, missed runs, customer complaint data, accident statistics, and other operational metrics.
- Perform additional duties as assigned and assist in other areas based on location needs.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in paratransit operations.
- 3-5 years of supervisory experience in transit operations preferred.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements to ensure compliance with applicable Federal, State, and local laws governing demand response transportation services.
- Experience supervising schedulers, dispatchers, and drivers.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact appropriately with employees at all levels, including drivers, customers, senior management, and client representatives.
- Willingness to work extended hours, including weekends and holidays, as necessary.
- Demonstrate consistent attendance and punctuality.
- Possess a reliable vehicle for commuting to work.
- Subject to DOT drug testing regulations.
