Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will engage in the development of our sequencing platform, emphasizing the seamless integration of processes, hardware, and software within the sequencer, as well as troubleshooting various components. Responsibilities include:
- Operating advanced instrumentation, preparing biological samples and buffer solutions, initiating sequencing runs, and managing resultant data.
- Modifying run parameters using Python and developing protocols for optimization with Python and C++ programming languages.
- Creating scripts for system testing and troubleshooting, utilizing Python and C++.
- Formulating and executing test methodologies to characterize system performance, subsystems, and processes.
- Designing, conducting, analyzing, and presenting experiments to evaluate specific performance metrics of the system.
- Integrating system components and testing their interactions.
- Preparing control software components for operational and component testing.
- Characterizing fluidic components and pathways.
- Optimizing the configuration of all system components.
- Contributing to the generation of system requirements based on performance assessments.
- Verifying requirements through process development, testing, data analysis, and presentation, including appropriate experimental preparation and statistical evaluation.
Candidate Profile

Qualifications include:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Bio-engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, or a related field, with a minimum of 2 years of experience in instrumentation development.
- Strong mechanical and electrical skills, along with expertise in electro-mechanical integration and troubleshooting; familiarity with microfluidics is advantageous.
- Proficiency in Python programming is required; knowledge of C++ is a plus.
- Understanding of DNA manipulation techniques and sequencing methodologies is beneficial.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong written and electronic record-keeping abilities.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
