Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine checks on medical equipment to confirm operational readiness.
- Adhere to established protocols for point-of-care testing, EKG procedures, and phlebotomy.
- Promptly report any patient safety concerns to the supervising physician and practice manager.
- Execute general patient care tasks, including scheduling, managing patient flow, recording vital signs, and assisting patients with mobility and specimen collection.
- Handle clerical duties such as managing patient medical records, obtaining laboratory and radiology reports, and processing referrals.
- Organize medical documentation, laboratory results, and progress notes to ensure comprehensive information is available during patient consultations.
- Instruct patients on basic testing protocols, including clean catch urine samples, EKGs, and phlebotomy.
- Maintain environmental standards by preparing instruments and equipment, cleaning examination rooms, and managing supply inventory.
- Ensure proper disposal of expired medications and supplies while adhering to sterile techniques and universal precautions.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous experience in a medical practice or similar environment is preferred.
- Education: High School diploma or GED.
- Special Skills: Proficiency in medical terminology is preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, along with a customer service orientation.
- Bilingual in Spanish: Preferred.
