Role Summary:
The selected candidate will serve as a pivotal member of the paving operations, demonstrating expertise in overseeing tasks typically managed by the Paving Foreman. This role demands a commitment to maintaining workflow efficiency while prioritizing safety and quality in all aspects of the paving process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Uphold a safe working environment in alignment with established safety protocols.
- Maintain physical fitness to perform tasks requiring lifting and flexibility.
- Arrive on-site promptly to prepare for daily operations and conduct safety assessments.
- Communicate daily crew attendance to the Operations Coordinator.
- Ensure that paving operations adhere to quality standards and project specifications.
- Supervise and guide team members to foster a collaborative work environment.
- Monitor paving activities to ensure compliance with depth, yield, and density requirements.
- Coordinate with dispatch regarding asphalt tonnage and mix specifications.
- Conduct daily inspections of equipment and report maintenance needs.
- Ensure all operators complete necessary documentation accurately.
- Review project completion and cleanliness before concluding daily operations.
- Report any incidents or accidents immediately to the appropriate personnel.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Strong focus on safety and quality assurance.
- Valid Driver's License required.
- Proven experience in paving and milling operations.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
- Proficient in operating various paving machinery.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
