Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in the Clinical Decision Unit at Intermountain Health.
About the Role:
This is a full-time opportunity working night shifts, where you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care in a fast-paced environment. As a Registered Nurse, you will collaborate with other healthcare team members, adhering to regulatory guidelines while providing exceptional care to patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and address patients' psychological and physical needs
- Foster quality of care with the best interests of patients and their families in mind
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Comply with evaluation, treatment, and documentation guidelines
- Oversee care delivered by LPNs and/or CNAs
- Participate in clinical team conferences
- Follow hospital, regulatory, and professional guidelines, policies, and procedures
Requirements:
- A current license as a Registered Nurse in the state of Colorado
- A minimum of 15 years of proven continuous Registered Nurse experience in an acute care setting
- A BSN degree within four (4) years from the Registered Nurse's date of hire unless exempt
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS-HCP) certification upon hire or obtained within 60 days of hire with prior approval
Physical Requirements:
Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy.
This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients.
Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment.
Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment.
This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items.
Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc).
May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
