Job Summary:

The Patient Care Associate (PCA) is a vital member of the patient care services team at DMC Harper University/Hutzel Women's Hospital. As a PCA, you will provide technical, multi-skilled direct and indirect patient care activities under the supervision of a registered nurse. Your primary responsibilities will include collaborating with the care team to ensure consistency and quality of care, performing basic patient care activities, and assisting patients with activities of daily living.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with the care team to ensure consistency and quality of care
Perform basic patient care activities under the direction of a registered nurse
Assist patients with activities of daily living, such as feeding, bathing, and toileting
Follow all departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, including safety, environmental, and infection control standards
Demonstrate sensitivity to patient comfort and privacy, and express interest in patient progress

Requirements:

High school diploma or GED
Graduation from a school of practical nursing or completion of a Certified PCA/PCT Program, Certified Nurse Assistant Program, Medical Assistant Program, EMT program, or phlebotomy training program
Six months of direct patient care experience preferred
