Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Technician to work with our team in Saginaw, MI, specializing in engine repairs for our Distribution Business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop
  • Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
  • Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles
  • Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
  • Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products
  • Maintain own tools
Requirements
  • Completes complex internal engine repairs
  • Performs engine overhauls with limited direct supervision
  • Ability to troubleshoot with limited/no support from diagnostic tools
  • Larger more complicated engine rebuilds
  • Mentor junior technicians including technical support and documentation
Qualifications
  • Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred)
  • Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
  • Locally valid driving permit (Preferred)

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions. The ideal candidate will have level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products and experience providing technical advice and coaching to more junior technicians.

This is a Union position that requires a completed DMV driving report but no Driver Qualification file. The candidate must be at least 18 years old and have 2 years driving experience. This position will be part of the FTA pool and requires a current valid license.

This role requires a 5-year motor vehicle report, free from major infractions. The position is subject to Federal Transit Administration random and pre-employment drug testing requirements. This role will be subject to on-going random drug and alcohol testing.
