PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • The Material Operations Supervisor is accountable for guiding hourly teams responsible for the unloading, storage, and distribution of materials to support production in an automotive manufacturing assembly facility.
  • Oversee safety, delivery, cost management, quality assurance, and team morale of hourly workgroups.
  • Enhance the development of team leaders to comply with corporate standards and innovate existing material delivery systems to boost productivity and minimize manufacturing expenses through the World Class Manufacturing approach.
  • Ensure the accuracy of inventory and records while fostering a constructive relationship with both management and union-represented employees.
  • Supervise multiple work teams in a dynamic, high-volume unionized manufacturing setting.
  • Coordinate daily team operations to meet business objectives and implement World Class Manufacturing (WCM) methodologies related to material flow.
  • Responsible for nurturing and developing high-performing teams, consisting of Team Leaders and Team Members, while adhering to Leadership Principles.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting equipment and machinery.
  • Strong mathematical skills and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Above-average proficiency in Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team while also functioning independently.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong capacity to organize and prioritize tasks.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • A dedicated team player, hard worker, self-starter with a solid work ethic.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Prior experience in the automotive industry within a manufacturing context.
  • Experience in a logistics warehouse environment.
  • Previous management experience.
