Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team at The Animal Hospital. As a key member of our veterinary team, you will play a vital role in providing top-notch patient care, supporting our veterinarians, and contributing to the overall success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Care: Assist veterinarians with medical procedures, take vital signs, and provide basic care to patients.
  • Medical Records: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including patient histories and treatment plans.
  • Client Communication: Interact with clients, provide education on animal care and health, and address concerns in a professional and empathetic manner.
  • Lab and Pharmacy: Assist with laboratory tests, prepare and administer medications, and maintain pharmacy inventory.
  • Equipment and Supply Management: Maintain and clean equipment, order supplies, and ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with veterinarians, technicians, and support staff to achieve team goals and provide exceptional patient care.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in veterinary technology or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: One to two years of experience as a veterinary technician or in a related field; registered veterinary technicians in Iowa preferred.
  • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and proficiency in veterinary software and equipment.
