Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse - Utilization Review

We are seeking a highly skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at the Independence Mental Health Institute (IMHI). As a LPN, you will play a critical role in coordinating the activities in the Utilization Review (UR) Office, working closely with the multidisciplinary team, insurance companies, patients, and families to ensure access to and appropriate payment for services provided at IMHI.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate the activities in the UR Office, including reviewing patient medical records to participate in the treatment planning process and assist Social Workers with discharge planning.
  • Review patient medical records to complete quality assurance reviews and provide training to other employees assigned to the UR Office.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers to ensure seamless care transitions.
  • Stay up-to-date with changing regulations and policies related to healthcare and utilization review.
Requirements:
  • Licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse by the Iowa Board of Nursing or licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in accordance with the Nurse Licensure Compact Administrator's Agreement of the National Council of State Boards of Nursing.
  • Experience working in a behavioral health setting or in a utilization review capacity preferred but not required.
