This innovative 1:1 community-based initiative is designed to provide personalized support to individuals who benefit from individualized assistance or wish to engage more actively in their surroundings. This position is well-suited for someone who is dedicated to enhancing the lives of individuals with varying support needs.
About PathPoint: We are a non-profit organization committed to empowering individuals with disabilities, mental health challenges, and young adults to lead fulfilling lives. By enhancing workplace skills, developing essential life competencies, and nurturing meaningful connections, we serve communities across multiple counties.
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 30-40 hours per week, with a flexible schedule based on client needs.
Compensation: Starting at $20.00 per hour, with a higher rate of $20.30 per hour for bilingual candidates (Spanish or ASL). The pay range for this role is between $16.00 and $23.74 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver 1:1 support to individuals in diverse community environments.
- Assist with mobility requirements, including operating wheelchairs.
- Support individuals with communication challenges in community activities.
- Provide assistance with feeding and other supportive tasks as necessary (no personal care or hygiene involved).
- Encourage meaningful participation in community events and activities.
- Maintain accurate documentation of daily activities and progress.
- Promote a positive and inclusive atmosphere for all individuals.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with individuals with diverse abilities is preferred.
- Comfortable providing physical support, including wheelchair assistance.
- Strong communication skills, particularly with non-verbal individuals.
- Compassionate, patient, and enthusiastic about community involvement.
- Independent thinker with creative problem-solving abilities.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record.
- Culturally aware and able to collaborate across diverse backgrounds.
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
