Job Title: Full-Time Driver/Commodities Associate

New York Common Pantry is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Full-Time Driver/Commodities Associate to join our Senior Nutrition Program team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of commodities to mobile pantry sites, as well as assisting with the distribution of food and supplies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Transportation: Safely drive the agency-owned box truck to mobile pantry sites, ensuring timely delivery of commodities.
  • Commodity Management: Properly load and unload commodities at mobile sites, ensuring accurate inventory management and adherence to NYC food handling standards.
  • Warehouse Operations: Assist with the maintenance of inventory for all food and program-related supplies, ensuring proper storage and organization.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Food Commodities Associate and Intake/Nutrition Associate to set up and pack up the distribution area at mobile sites.
Requirements:
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: 1+ year of experience driving a box truck, with a clean driving record.
  • Skills: Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Certifications: Certification in Food Safety by the NYCP Department of Health and Mental Hygiene preferred.
