Laborer - Environmental Services

Job Summary:

A Laborer is responsible for safely and efficiently performing general labor duties at a waste management company, transfer station, recycling center, or landfill. Responsibilities may include such things as yard clean-up, fueling vehicles and equipment, general vehicle operation, general office maintenance, and other related duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely and Efficiently Perform Assigned Responsibilities:
    • Clean up work areas
    • Fuel vehicles and equipment
    • Clean track on track type and related equipment
    • Perform yard work, including mowing and paper pick up
    • Operate general site vehicles and equipment, such as water trucks, pick up trucks, sweepers, mowers, trimming equipment, etc.
    • Perform general office maintenance and repairs, including painting and janitorial work
    • Install temporary wind fences, as required
    • Direct traffic at the site as necessary
    • Perform other job-related duties as assigned
  • Support the Team:
    • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve team goals and objectives
    • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
  • Adhere to Company Policies and Procedures:
    • Follow all safety protocols and procedures
    • Comply with company policies and procedures

Requirements:

  • Education:
    • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience:
    • Previous laborer experience preferred
  • Skills:
    • Ability to work safely and efficiently
    • Physical stamina to perform manual labor
    • Ability to operate general site vehicles and equipment
    • Basic knowledge of painting and janitorial work
